Traffic police fines through State Services - verification and payment

If failure to pay a fine for a traffic violation is overdue, this may result in deprivation of rights, administrative liability, and restrictions on traveling abroad. There are a large number of official websites where searching for a debt and repaying it takes a few minutes. It’s convenient and safe to pay off your debt, as well as check traffic police fines at State Services. You can pay for tickets issued to a motorist for traffic violations without even leaving the website. Transferring money through this portal is legal and protected by the state.

How to receive information about fines on State Services

Information from the traffic police database flows here. If a citizen is registered on the portal, if he has indicated his driver’s license number and vehicle STS data, he can receive a full breakdown of violations and fines.

If you indicate only a driver’s license, then the portal will only display information about decisions issued personally by traffic police officers (you were stopped on the highway and a violation was detected). From cameras, fines are assigned to the STS, so you need to enter it to obtain the most accurate information.

On State Services you can attach not only owned vehicles to your account. If the car is registered to another person, you can also indicate his STS and receive information about fines issued for this document.

To add a new vehicle, you need to log into your account and open the “Documents and Data” section. The “Transport” tab displays all cars linked to your account. To add a new one, click the corresponding button:

A car form will open where you need to enter data about it. This is the state number, series and STS number. You don’t have to provide additional information; it does not apply to traffic police fines. In the “Vehicle Name” field, you can specify any template name.

Click on the save button, and that’s it, information about the car is attached to your account. If suddenly a fine is issued for this STS, this will be reflected on the State Services website in the appropriate section.

Applications

You can check unpaid fines on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or State Services using the appropriate applications. In the Ministry of Internal Affairs, find and download the application from the “Online Services” tab or the “Mobile application of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia” icon, and on the State Services website - through the link for free.

The apps have a number of benefits. Using them you can:

  • Promptly fulfill internal requests, find out useful information, including about new regulations and order services;
  • Submit an online application to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in your region, find out about sanctions and quickly pay them using a Sberbank card;
  • Find out a list of the 20 nearest law enforcement agencies and call the police, giving your name, surname and patronymic.

In addition, using the Ministry of Internal Affairs or State Services application, you can pay a fine for a car without a commission, and receive a bank receipt of payment as confirmation.

How to view traffic police fines on State Services

The registered user’s personal account will reflect all current fines issued for the driver’s license specified in the profile and for the linked STS of any cars.

The information is located in the “Car and traffic fines” section, which can be accessed through a search. Instead of the section title, you can simply enter “traffic police fines.” The following page will open with the “Check” button active:

A page will open on which you can view all the debts owed by the citizen, not just car fines. But since they are the ones we are interested in, we select the appropriate section. If there are outstanding fines, they will all be reflected on the page:

You can pay all the fines you see, or just one. If one of several, you need to click on this resolution, and a form will open only for it.

You can also access the section with fines from the main page of the State Services portal. If a citizen has debts to the tax authorities, traffic police, or bailiffs, a frame will appear on the main screen indicating the total amount of debt. Clicking on it will open a page with a complete list of the citizen’s debts.

We recommend that you indicate your email address in your profile on the State Services portal. Then, when a new debt appears or information about it changes, the citizen will receive notifications by mail. As a result, you can quickly track fines and pay them with a 50% discount.

Why is the fine not visible on State Services and on the traffic police website?

A fine for violating traffic rules can be issued by video and photo cameras installed on the roads, or by a traffic police officer. All information is entered into the State Traffic Inspectorate database, from there it goes to the official website of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate and the State Services portal. But what to do if you were given a fine, but it is not in the sources, and why does this happen?

The fine issued by the violation recording camera is automatically entered into the GIS GMP database. And the one issued by an employee of the Road Patrol Service is entered manually after a certain time. After processing, a letter with the amount of the fine is sent to the violator. The State Services portal and the official website of the traffic police are updated from 2 hours to 3 days. Therefore, if you have violated traffic rules and know that you are due a fine, do not panic and immediately go to websites to pay the debt. Wait a few days and feel free to pay. In any case, the information will appear in the sources, and the “letter of happiness” will come to you much later.

There are several other reasons why the new fine is not displayed on the State Services and on the traffic police website:

  • The State Services portal is directly connected to the traffic police website. If glitches and technical problems occur on the traffic police website, then the information on the portal will not be updated on time.
  • Incorrectly entered data by a traffic police officer or an automated camera. The traffic police website and the State Services portal cannot display the amount of the fine. This means that there is simply no violation.

The fine came by letter by Russian post, but it is not on the portal - why? This may happen due to the fact that you violated the Traffic Rules in another region. The farther from the city where you live the fine was issued, the greater the likelihood of missing data on the portal. But most likely, it will be on the official website of the traffic police - check for the presence of a fine in this source.

How to pay if there is no information about the fine on State Services? This can be done in the traditional way, using the details indicated on the receipt, at any bank branch or through a mobile application.

How to pay a traffic police fine through State Services with a card

Many people choose this payment option because it seems reliable. The cancellation takes place through the official state portal, so there should be no delays or non-receipts of funds. In general, this is simply convenient: you see the debt and can immediately close it.

Find the debt, click on the “Payment” button. A page will open where you need to enter your bank card details. This is the most common payment option, and you can pay from any card: even the most authorized user, or any other.

You need to enter the card number, CV code from the back and expiration date of the plastic. Afterwards, you need to confirm the payment with a code sent by the system on the phone number linked to the card. If you plan to continue paying debts through State Services from this card, you can save it and it will be linked to your account.

Please note that the promotion is valid until June 23, 2021 - when paying a traffic fine with a MIR card, no commission will be charged. In other cases, it is taken, the size is indicated before payment.

Other payment methods

If you do not have a bank card, you can use other payment options. Fortunately, there are plenty of them in the State Services. If you click on the “Change payment method” link on the fine payment page, all possible options will open, indicating the range of commissions:

That is, it can be GooglePay or SamsungPay, the electronic wallet Yumani, Qiwi and WebMoney, as well as payment from a mobile phone. In the latter case, the money is debited from the phone number specified by the client. This is the most expensive option, but will still be convenient for many.

If these options do not suit you, and you want to pay the fine in cash, you can download the receipt. You can download it to your device or choose to send it by email. Using a printed receipt, you can make a payment through the cash desk of any bank (a commission is charged according to the tariffs of that bank).

If you do not agree with the traffic police fine found on the State Services portal, you can appeal it as standard by contacting the State Traffic Inspectorate and the court.

Payment of fines

If, after receiving the service, the user finds out that there is an unpaid fine in his name, he can easily pay it. To do this, he has several options for transferring funds to choose from:

  • from a bank card;
  • mobile payment;
  • from your online wallet account.

Each payer chooses the most convenient option and fills out an electronic receipt. The entire procedure takes a minimum of time, and the funds are transferred to the recipient within a few business days. You can learn more about the terms of payment transfer when filling out the payroll.

How to pay a fine with a 50% discount

Drivers can actually pay fines with a 50% discount. For example, if a fine of 500 rubles is issued, you can only pay 250 if you make the payment promptly and without delay.

According to the law, a citizen is given a period of 60 days to pay the traffic police fine, after which the collection case may go to the bailiff (then an enforcement fee will also be added, which may be more than the fine). But if the driver makes payment within 20 days after the decision is issued, he is given a 50% discount.

This applies to orders issued for the following violations:

  • lack of a compulsory motor liability insurance policy;
  • crossing the road in the wrong place;
  • talking on the phone while driving;
  • over speed;
  • driving into the oncoming lane;
  • driving a car while previously deprived of the right to drive a vehicle;
  • driving on red;
  • driving a car that is not registered with the traffic police;
  • the driver or his passengers are not wearing seat belts.

All other types of violations are paid without discounts. If the type of fine requires a 50% discount, and less than 20 days have passed since the resolution was drawn up, the discount on the State Services portal is automatically provided.

If the fine concerns a car that you sold, you need to contact the new owner of the vehicle. In general, he is obliged to re-register the car in his name within 10 days from the date of purchase. If he is in no hurry to do this, the former owner can apply through the State Services to terminate registration.

FAQ
