The organizational procedure for registering for an exam may vary slightly depending on the driving school, but the general provisions will be the same in any case.

ATTENTION !!! You should know that not all regions of the country have a government services website. Although in 2021, in almost every more or less large city, the service is already connected. It is necessary to clarify information for each specific locality.

Despite the simplicity and convenience of the service, it has some significant disadvantages:
  • Many users of the site complain that it is often not accessible, crashes and has other problems. These problems are indeed present and seriously complicate work, but every year the number of problems decreases, which increases the stability of work;
  • the need to upload electronic copies of documents. Not everyone has the opportunity to attach scans, so this condition can be a problem;

  • mandatory pre-registration. To use the site, you will need to create an account and then verify it by contacting a special institution. This makes the entire registration process relatively difficult.

Filling out an electronic application to register for an exam at the traffic police

  1. Information about the vehicle category. Select the category of the vehicle you were trained to drive.

  2. Personal Information. In the following blocks, indicate personal, passport, contact information and residential address.
  3. Personal data: columns full name, date of birth, contacts are loaded from the settings of the personal account of the State Services portal. If the form is not completely filled out, enter the missing information or change it if it is not relevant.

  4. In the “Passport data” section we enter the series, passport number, who and when the document was issued, citizenship, country and place of birth.

  6. Information about the driving school and medical certificate. Indicate the name of the driving school, the number of the training certificate and the date it was received. At your request, you can enter the driving school license number.

  8. Selecting a traffic police department. In the proposed list, generated based on your place of residence, select the department where you will go to take the exam. Also indicate the date and time of your visit.

  10. Wait for the date and time of your visit to be approved in your personal account on the State Services portal or in the way you specified in the settings (PUSH notification, email, SMS).

When to register for the exam

Passing an exam at the traffic police is not a regular action and cases when it is necessary to do this are enshrined in law.

Passing the traffic police exam is provided in the following cases:
  • Immediately after driving school, when the student completes training, he receives a certificate and all that remains to obtain his license is to pass the exams. Today, training in a driving school, even formal, is a prerequisite, so it is impossible to obtain a driver’s license without a driving school;
  • after being deprived of a license for driving while intoxicated. For drunk driving, the law stipulates not only the deprivation of rights for up to 2 years, but also the subsequent mandatory passing of a theory exam.

It is expected that exams should be passed on the first attempt, so if the exam is not passed, you will have to re-register through government services. One statement applies to all parts of the test: both the theory and the driving test.

If the attempt is unsuccessful, the retake will be postponed. You will be able to re-register no earlier than in a week, and then only in a month. Due to the fact that the theoretical exam is valid for only six months, with a large number of retakes, you will probably need to take all exams from scratch.

This can be done using any of the methods given on the site. These vary depending on the region, but most often confirmation occurs in the following ways:
  • submission of all required documents to the MFC. The center staff will take the scans, confirm the data on the website, after which an additional message will be sent. Instead of the MFC, such services are sometimes provided by other organizations, for example, banks;
  • If there are no places in the city where confirmation takes place (although this is practically impossible), documents can be sent by mail. This method takes longer, and you will have to pay for the shipment itself.

Depending on the location of confirmation, the procedure can be either paid or free. The second option is more common.

Sign up on the website

After your account is verified, a message will be sent to your phone number. This means that full functionality for using the site is open. To take the exam, you must fill out an application in a special section.

If the test is taking place for the first time, most likely the whole group will take the exam, so the administration of the driving school will inform you of the time at which it is best to fill out the form on the website. If you plan to take the exam yourself, you can sign up at any time.

IMPORTANT !!! The process itself is as simple as possible and will not take more than 10 minutes. The system will gradually prompt you to fill out certain forms, after which final confirmation will be required. To register for the exam, you must have the following documents:
  • passport or other identification document;
  • certificate of completion of training at a driving school;
  • medical certificate issued in a special form;

It is important to remember that a medical certificate is valid only for 1 year, after which it must be reissued. Without this certificate, it will be impossible to take the exam and obtain a license.
