Why can the traffic police issue you a fine of 500 rubles?

Unreadable numbers

Drivers and motorcyclists should note that their license plates must always be legible. Also, their numbers must be standard and without any violations. If one of the points is violated, then he cannot avoid monetary punishment.

If the number is not installed at all in its proper place, the owner of the car/motorcycle will be deprived of his license.

Unreadable numbers are caused by the impossibility of reading them from a distance of 20 meters by the inspector's eye. In the morning and during the day, both the front and rear license plates should be clearly visible, in the evening and at night - only the rear ones.

Pay with a discount

As part of the study, all transactions involving the payment of traffic police fines using bank cards for the first quarter of this and last year were analyzed. The number of operations and average receipts were studied depending on gender, age and place of residence, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the study, Russians traditionally commit minor offenses on the roads. The most popular fine amount for the first three months of 2021, like a year ago, is 250 rubles. It accounted for 56 percent of all receipts. This suggests that most drivers prefer to pay fines ahead of schedule, that is, within 20 days from the date the penalty was issued.

By the way, according to the traffic police, 85 percent of fined drivers, of those who have the opportunity to pay half of the fine, take advantage of the discount. Let us remind you that the discount does not apply to all violations. For example, for driving while intoxicated or refusing a medical examination, the discount on the fine, which is imposed in addition to deprivation of the right to drive, does not apply. From May 1, the discount does not apply to fines for violating the rules for crossing railway crossings.

In second place, according to the bank, is the amount of 500 rubles. Such a fine appears on 17 percent of receipts. Obviously, these are those car owners who simply did not have time to pay the fine at a discount. Either they received it too late or they forgot.

The third most popular is a fine of 1,500 rubles. These amounted to 4 percent of all fines. Obviously, these are purely capital fines paid at a discount. Namely, fines for violating the rules of stopping and parking, as well as for driving in a dedicated lane for public transport. All other fines - 1.5 and 3 thousand rubles - provided for by the Code of Administrative Offenses are not so widespread.

The study also concluded that Russians under 20 years of age are the leaders in terms of the average fine amount. Their average bill was 648 rubles. In second place is the age group of 21-30 years old with a check of 559 rubles. Third place goes to Russians aged 31-40 with a check of 425 rubles. This is followed by clients aged 51-60 years old - 388 rubles, followed by people over 60 years old (381 rubles). The most careful drivers were Russians aged 41-50 with a fine of 379 rubles.

85 percent of car owners pay fines that are subject to a discount at a discount

It is clear that this gives an idea only of those car owners who pay fines. According to the traffic police, the collection of fines is now more than 85 percent.

It is noteworthy that the collection rate of fines for driving while intoxicated is significantly lower. Until recently, it barely exceeded 30 percent. Now in some regions it reaches 50 percent. It is obvious that proposals to raise it even more, which are being voiced in the State Duma, will lead to a sharp decrease in its collection rate. And the inability to obtain a license without paying this fine will lead to an increase in the number of drivers driving without a license.

Failure to comply with requirements

The traffic police officer may require the driver to get out of the car or fill out a protocol. If the owner refuses to do this, he will be fined from 500 to 1000 rubles. Arrest for fifteen days will be possible.

What else can you get such a punishment for in 2021?

  1. Violation of educational driving and transportation.
  2. Violation of towing and transportation of goods.
  3. Incorrect use of lighting devices.

Important : the discount applies to all listed offenses.

KBK 18211603010016000140 in 2021

Stands for budget classification code. A fine is paid in case of violation of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation. Also, KBK 18211603010016000140 is charged for violations of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

Why will they be fined 500 rubles?

A fine of 500 rubles is issued for minor traffic violations, which are often committed by road users. These include:

  • driving a car that has not passed the appropriate registration or state inspection;
  • non-standard form of license plate, inability to read the information on it;
  • excessive tinting on windows;
  • presence of malfunctions in the machine;
  • speeding from 21 to 40 km/h;
  • performing maneuvers not according to the rules (turn signal not turned on, refusal to give way to a car with the right-of-way);
  • disregard for markings or signs;
  • crossing state borders in a car without a license plate, or lack of a list of passengers during international transportation;
  • the driver does not have the necessary documents, including permission to import cargo.

Some of the most popular traffic police fines are refusal to fasten seat belts in a car and pedestrian crossing the road in the wrong place. This violation will cost citizens 1,000 rubles.

How can you pay a fine?

There are several ways you can pay the fine:

  • through the traffic police website;
  • payment systems;
  • SMS;
  • with the help of a bank;
  • through a credit institution.

If this amount is not transferred through the official website of the traffic police, then a commission will be charged. It is best to make payment at the place indicated on the receipt.

Thus, many offenses under the Code of Administrative Offenses, which are punishable by five hundred rubles, were considered. If the driver does not agree with the inspector’s decision on the sanction, he can appeal it to the traffic police. The main thing is to fill out the form in a structured manner and present your evidence.

For which there is a fine from the traffic police in the amount of 500 rubles

A penalty of 500 rubles is imposed for most non-serious violations that are committed as a priority.

It is logical that for a repeated offense the driver may be fined a large amount and also lose his license.

A fine of five thousand rubles is the minimum accepted in Russia at the moment, so it is used quite often and at the same time does not burden the driver who was negligent in committing a violation.

How to find out about collection

To find out about the penalty imposed by the traffic police for violations, there are two options. In the case when a person is stopped by an inspector, he draws up a protocol in which he describes all the driver’s violations, the articles that are charged as a violation, as well as the penalty, which is the main information.

The person who is fined is given a copy of the decision, and from that moment he can make payments to pay off the legal fine.

The situation is more complicated with violations that were recorded automatically by special cameras.

You can find out about them only after the decree arrives by mail at the owner’s home address. But the mail may not meet the deadlines, which is why you can not only lose the discount you are entitled to, but also greatly lose in terms of payment.

But you can check it yourself on the Internet by going to the official website of the traffic police or other resources that also have their own services connected to the police database.

Unreadable numbers

According to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, the license plate of a car must be clearly visible both during the day and at night from a distance of 20 meters.

This is the basic rule, but there are additional nuances that can also be a violation. So, the number must be clean; if contamination does not make it unreadable, but it is not recorded with special equipment, then this will also be punished.

Another type of punishable offense will be slight contamination of the number, which covers one symbol, but the number remains clear.

At night, only the rear sign is checked for legibility; this also needs to be taken into account. And of course, despite the fine of 500 rubles, an oral or written warning from the inspector may also be issued.

Lack of documents

If an inspector stops a person and he does not have documents with him, but for the reason that he forgot them at home, a fine of five thousand rubles is imposed.

In this case, the driver is checked using a remote database, and if he really has a driver’s license, everything is limited only by this fine.

Technical inspection

Those drivers who drive a category “B” car are exempt from liability for failure to pass technical inspection.

Moreover, the inspector cannot even demand a vehicle inspection certificate, these are the new rules. The exceptions will be passenger buses, passenger taxis, trucks with more than 8 seats and, of course, cars that transport dangerous goods.

Drivers of all these cars must have a valid technical inspection, and if they do not have one, then a fine of 500 rubles will be imposed for the first offense.

Car malfunction

If the inspector notices that the car has certain defects that prohibit its driving, he will stop the car and issue a report in the amount of 500 rubles. These components include the brake system, steering, and coupling device.

Tinting

On the roads you can often see cars that have an opaque film on the windows, called tinting.

For the fine for a downed elk, see the article: fine for a downed elk. Why the traffic police fined a camera in the amount of 800 rubles, read here.

According to Russian standards, the light transmittance of glass must be at a good level, and if special devices of employees reveal a discrepancy, then the tinting will need to be removed, or subsequently pay a five-hundred-ruble fine.

Over speed

If a motorist exceeds the permissible speed limit by more than 20 km/h, but less than 40 km/h, then he will be punished with a fine of 500 rubles.

Moreover, such a violation is recorded both by the inspector and by cameras, so depending on the situation, the fine may be known immediately, or it will arrive by mail.

Turn signal not turned on

If the driver does not turn on the turn signal when changing lanes or turning, then he is entitled to a warning in case of leniency, or 500 rubles in the worst case.

But if the turn signal is faulty, then this is a reason for issuing a fine in the same amount as for a device that is not turned on.

Failure to give way

If, when maneuvering, the driver does not give way to another car, he will have to pay a fine of 500 rubles.

In this case, a warning is possible, but for other cases of failure to provide an advantage, a more serious fine is imposed, this is both the situation with pedestrians and cyclists, as well as when driving through an intersection.

Violation of road signs

In case of a not very serious violation related to failure to comply with the requirements of a road sign, the inspector may issue a fine of 500 rubles.

But some cameras can also detect such violations, so if you deliberately break the rules, you can be prepared for such a sanction to be applied, and a decision about this will be sent by mail.
