The discount is 30%. Thanks to it, you can get state signs for 1,400 instead of 2,000 rubles, and PTS for 560 rubles instead of 800.
How to access government services
Since the computer cannot verify the passport of the citizen who applied, it became necessary to somehow identify the applicant.
For this purpose, a Unified Identification and Authentication System was created - a database of logins and passwords from State Services.
There are three account levels in the ESIA:
- A simplified one appears immediately after registering online;
- Registration becomes standard after entering the necessary information from your passport and SNILS;
- The status of a Confirmed entry is obtained after personal certification.
The first two types of accounts can be obtained without leaving your computer in a few tens of minutes - less than half an hour may be enough.
To do this you need to have with you:
- mobile phone;
- passport;
- SNILS;
- TIN.
Registration takes place via mobile phone, to which you will receive an SMS with confirmation instructions. At this stage, it is enough to say your full name.
Next, the system will offer to share personal information about yourself. It concerns the place of registration and residence, information about the issued passport, documents such as SNILS and TIN.
The data will need to be retyped into the provided forms, agree to the processing of personal data and sent to the server.
After verification - it will take about 15 minutes - the account status will change to standard.
With a standard account, you can already view and pay traffic police fines, but such an option as registering with the traffic police to register your car is available only with a maximum account.

You must again have your passport and SNILS with you. The specialist will check the data you entered into the system, compare it with real documents and ask you to sign consent to data processing.

How to sign up for the traffic police through State Services
The State Traffic Inspectorate is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which provides a wide range of government services electronically through the portal.
The traffic police itself offers three options. This:
- familiarize yourself with fines online and pay them at a discount;
- taking exams and issuing a driver's license;
- vehicle registration.
You only need to sign up for personal attendance for the second and third services. We will look at how to register with the traffic police through the State Services portal to register a car (vehicle).
Step 1: We are looking for a government service on the portal.
First of all, you need to open the gosuslugi.ru portal and log in using a verified account.

In the new window, you will first need to indicate that you are registering a car or bus (other options are a trailer; other vehicles), and you are the owner (an authorized representative of an individual/legal entity).
Then enter some personal data, namely:
- Full name, date of birth and contacts;
- passport data;
- location
The first two items will be loaded automatically - you entered them during registration. The third one too, but it can be changed by indicating “residence address” instead of “registration address”.
Then you need to indicate whether you need to obtain new state signs and a new PTS (or make changes to the existing one) and indicate your category of driver's license.
The following items will need to be filled in according to your vehicle data. This:
- Description of the vehicle with VIN, chassis/frame and body numbers;
- Make, model, year of manufacture - required, which can be supplemented with information about the type of vehicle and engine, manufacturer's organization and body color.

Replacing the VU: step-by-step instructions
Registration with the state automobile inspectorate MREO (GAI) through State Services is far from the only service; here you can also replace your driver’s license. To do this, you need to follow a certain algorithm of actions:
- collection of necessary documents (identity card, previous license, medical examination);
- submitting an application (almost the same data is entered into it as when obtaining rights for the first time);
- payment of a fee of 2,000 rubles (if paid through the portal, a 30% discount applies, i.e. the amount will be 1,400 rubles);

On the official website of the State Traffic Inspectorate, the driver can submit an application to any department, as well as download the current application form and complete it at home, having studied the requirements and rules. A traffic police registration left through the State Services website can be canceled not only on the portal. A visit to the car inspection can be canceled in other ways.
- There are situations when there is neither a laptop nor a smartphone nearby, or for some reason there is no Internet (for example, due to a natural disaster). In this case, it is recommended to call the traffic police hotline and get advice. A specialist from a government agency will provide the telephone number of the required MREO department. Then you need to contact the inspector and notify him that it is not possible to register.
- If you don’t have a phone number, you can cancel your appointment during a personal visit to the traffic police . Just visit the department and tell the employee on duty that you need to cancel your check-in reservation.
- To cancel your application, you must contact the department of the multifunctional center (MFC). A specialist from the institution will generate and send a request regarding the cancellation of the entry to the traffic police. As a result, a notification should appear in the user’s personal account on State Services that the application has been deleted.
If you delete the electronic record in the traffic police in time, then no consequences will follow. It will not be possible to make changes to the request on State Services; there is no such function. First you need to cancel the application, and then re-submit it for a new date that will be more suitable. If a citizen completely refuses registration, the funds paid can be returned. Deregistration of a car
You can order on the State Services portal not only to register a car with the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, but also to deregister it. To do this, you need to follow the following algorithm of actions:
- go to the official portal and select the “Transport and Driving” tab;
- select the registration item, and then go to the deregistration subsection;
- decide on the required service and get acquainted with information about it;
- fill out the application and press the button to submit;

Important! If an application is submitted for vehicle recycling, the user will have to appear at the traffic police.
