How does the evacuation process work?

To begin with, the traffic police officer is required to draw up three protocols: confirming the violation; certificate of suspension from driving; car detention.

Each document is drawn up in the presence of the driver, copies are given to him.

Only those vehicles that actually interfere with the movement of pedestrians or other vehicles are towed.

What will they say on the phone?

The service operator confirms that the car has indeed been taken. It will tell you where the car was towed, so that you can navigate and which impound lot to pick it up from. This information is not provided immediately. Be told to wait at least an hour.

IMPORTANT: ask as many questions as possible. You must know exactly what set of documents to provide, what permits are required and in what sequence to return the car. The service employee is obliged to provide all the necessary information.

Where to get documents, where to go for them?

The next stage is a trip or trip to the traffic police department. There they will provide you with a copy of the protocol confirming that the car was towed and due to what violation. Be sure to check it out. The protocol must be completely filled out and have columns indicating the reasons and circumstances as a result of which the car was taken away.

Very often, such documents are filled out poorly, so car owners must take it upon themselves to check every detail. Make sure that the characteristics of the vehicle, its appearance, and its features are correctly indicated. Do not forget about the characteristics of the tow truck that picked up the car. Since not every model may fit your vehicle.

IMPORTANT: if you find a discrepancy, the employee who completed the filling must fill out the protocol in full. If refused, this document has no legal force.

As we all know, no confirmation, no violation, therefore no need to pay a fine.

In some parking lots in Moscow, if you have a certain permit, you can pick up your car by paying a fine on the spot.
