Stages of the examination process

Depending on the desired category, the applicant must learn:

1. The theoretical part, in accordance with the rules and standards for the safe operation of SM. This is required for those who are certified in all categories except "F".

A positive theoretical exam result remains valid for the next 3 months.

Practical

Consists of 2 consecutive stages. First, the examinee demonstrates knowledge and skills on a covered site, and then on a constructed route that simulates real operating conditions.

The following skills are tested within the site:

• parking in the hangar (reverse);

On a real route, the following are tested: compliance with traffic rules, the use of knowledge about the safe operation of self-propelled vehicles, the ability to correctly assess the road situation, as well as the correctness and speed of reaction to it.

Why do you need a tractor license?

Above, it has already been said what tractor licenses are and what categories they are classified into. Separately, it is worth raising the question of what they are needed for?

It is worth noting that approximately fifty years ago absolutely any person, including a woman, a teenager and a pensioner, could operate such equipment, and he did not need absolutely any rights.

However, in those days, the tractor was used for the sole purpose of helping to improve a plot of land in a fairly quick time.

Now, this document is necessary for the following reasons:

How to spot a fake

Lawyers do not advise forging an ID. A government inspector is scientific and knows what real rights look like.

Typical signs of a fake:

• the code of the region in which the driver lives does not correspond to the region in which the technical supervision issued the license;
• printing with blurry text on a document;
• there is no picture of an eagle on the seal;
• categories are specified incorrectly;
• fake hologram (or none);
• incorrect date format, for example, the year first, followed by the month and day - it should be different;
• wrong font;
• issued on an outdated form;
• the text is difficult to read;
• no watermarks.

Sometimes a fake ID is made like a real one: by making it on homemade forms, the text is cleared and a new one is applied over the outdated one, and the rest of the photographs are pasted on. All this can be seen with the naked eye.

If it turns out that the Gostekhnadzor tractor license is not genuine, you should stop using it. Drivers often think that a fake document will pass: the inspector will not stop, will not see the fake, or will be able to come to an agreement with him. The deception will still be revealed. This document is issued not by the State Traffic Inspectorate, like a standard driver’s license, but by Gostekhnadzor. It is allowed to submit documents to departments at the place where the examinee is registered. To be certified as a driver, regardless of which category of rights is chosen, you need to provide the following documents to the regional division:

• passport or other identity document;

In addition to the general provisions, there are separate standards (subcategories) for admission to categories of tractor driver’s rights:

• A1 is offered for drivers who have reached 16 years of age.
• A2 requires a year of experience in category “B” and age 19 years.
• A3 is issued after a year of driving license category “C” and over the age of 19 years.
• A4 is available to persons over 22 years of age who have 1 year of driving experience in category “D” vehicles.

Other categories B, C, E, F can be obtained by persons over 17 years of age without driving experience. D is issued to those who have reached 18 years of age and have no experience.

What medical certificate is needed?

In order to pass the test and obtain a permit to operate a tractor, you must present a document confirming your suitability for work. You will need a new medical certificate of form No. 003-B/a, valid from July 1, 2021. The document is suitable for drivers of cars, motorcycles, combines and tractors. The new medical certificate is smaller in size - issued on an A5 sheet, information is contained on both sides. Like the previous document, it is created using printing security methods, which means that the certificate is created on specially prepared paper with a colored background.

Previously, the driver's license contained fields where all necessary specialists had to sign, date and stamp. Since 2021, the document does not contain a photograph, information about the validity period (but the medical commission remains valid for 12 months from the date of issue), and most importantly, the fields in which the doctor (job title) was previously noted.

From March 2021, data on medical examinations are entered into the patient’s medical record. At the end, you need to visit a therapist (and/or chief physician) to fill out a certificate of obtaining a license from Gostekhnadzor. Several lines have been added to the document, namely tables:

• from all available categories (the old selection included only basic tables);
• restrictions on the operation of certain types of transport;

The medical certificate also contains a field to be filled in by the therapist and the column “Place of registration”.

To obtain a license, narrow specialist examinations are permitted only at the place of temporary or permanent registration.

Documents for obtaining a tractor license

Earlier, it was already said that in order to enroll in tractor ownership training courses you will need several personal documents. In addition to these, a number of other documents may also be required. For example, if a person has vision problems, he must present a separate certificate from an ophthalmologist.

The commission will already make a decision based on this indicator on whether a person will be able to fully drive a vehicle. The photo should show him wearing glasses.

If a person has previously undergone such training, then he should be shown a photocopy of the certificate of this. A person who does not have Russian citizenship must make temporary registration without fail.

What tractors can be used with category D?
