Every driver, even the most responsible and attentive, sometimes violates traffic rules and receives fines for it. Previously, when the traffic police did not yet have means of photo-video recording, each violator immediately received a receipt and a resolution from the traffic inspector who issued the fine. Now you can find out about the presence of a fine at a completely unexpected moment, and the period for its payment is calculated not from the moment the receipt is received, but from the moment the violation is recorded. From this article you will learn how you can get a receipt for paying a fine.
How to get a receipt for payment
If the traffic violation was recorded not by a traffic police officer, but by a special camera, then notification of the fine should arrive by mail. However, this method has two disadvantages:
- The notice can take quite a long time, which is why the driver may miss the deadline for appealing the fine (10 days), the deadline for paying a fifty percent discount (20 days), or even the full deadline for paying the fine (60 days).
- The letter with the receipt may simply get lost during the delivery process or may not arrive at all. However, liability for failure to pay a fine in such cases is not relieved. If the driver does not check for fines on his own, then upon expiration of the payment period the amount of the administrative fine may triple (Article 20.25 of the Administrative Code).
Of course, letters are not lost very often: usually the driver has enough time to pay the fine after receiving the receipt by mail. But the expiration of the payment period with a discount due to a delay in the letter at the post office is a quite common situation.
Fortunately, drivers have other ways to find out about a fine and get a receipt:
- website of the Traffic Inspectorate - https://traffic police.rf/;
- State Services portal - https://www.gosuslugi.ru/;
- regional websites and portals (for example, the Autocode portal works for Muscovites - https://avtokod.mos.ru/; and the website of the city mayor - https://www.mos.ru/).
Advice! If you do not need to pay the fine at a bank branch, then you don’t have to print the receipt at all.
The fine can be paid directly through the same sites, using electronic wallets or Internet banking. You can read in detail about all the methods of paying fines in this article. Drivers who are not registered on the above sites can also find out about the presence of a fine any day, but using more time-consuming methods:
- visiting the traffic police department;
- visiting a traffic police post;
- calling the regional traffic police hotline.
Where to print a receipt to pay a traffic fine
It is not such a rare case when a letter of happiness with a long-awaited receipt does not reach the addressee, for which it is not the traffic police officers who are to blame, but our venerable postmen and the Russian Post, which has already set its teeth on edge.
The situation is by no means critical if you know where to print a receipt with the details, without which a trip to the bank will turn out to be a waste of time (if the option of tediously filling in the details manually is not considered).
Receiving a fine today is a matter of just a few minutes. To do this, use one of the following services:
Before requesting a receipt, you should check the fines there.
Information about administrative offenses and imposed penalties can also be obtained:
- directly to the traffic police;
- at the nearest traffic police post;
- by calling the regional hotline (in Moscow (495) 539-22-99);
- by mobile 3210 for cellular triple subscribers;
- paid SMS request (in Moscow 7377).
Printing out a receipt at Sberbank is the same as going to the traffic police website, which can be done at home or in the office for free.
What information is needed to receive a receipt and pay a fine?
To pay a fine at a bank branch, the driver must provide the cashier with a printed receipt. You can also repay the debt through some ATMs or terminals; for this you do not need to have a printed version of the receipt with you: just enter the necessary information:
- Full name indicated in the resolution (if the violation was recorded by a camera, a fine is imposed on the owner of the car);
- details of the resolution or UIN;
- amount to be paid.
However, before visiting a bank branch, the driver will still have to obtain information about the fine in order to find out the order number and the amount of debt. This information will not simply be in the public domain; in order to obtain it, you will have to provide your personal data.
To check fines through the traffic police website, you need to enter the state. numbers and STS number. And on the State Services website you can check for fines using your driver’s license number.
What data is needed?
To generate a penalty receipt for payment, you will need to enter:
- FULL NAME;
- location;
- number of the resolution on administrative violation on the road;
- amount to be paid.
Obviously, the difficulty can only be caused by the number of the resolution by which the punishment was imposed.
Where can I get it if the letter of happiness with all the information and receipt disappeared without a trace, never reaching the addressee:
- a copy of the resolution is handed over by the inspector directly when issuing a fine;
- the email newsletter contains all the information;
- personal appeal to the traffic police;
- online check of fines through the government services portal (by STS number or ID number) will give the resolution number;
- An online check of fines through the official portal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (by car number and vehicle registration number) will provide a table of unpaid penalties with outgoing reason numbers.
Is it possible to take a decision online?
For some actions, for example, appealing a fine, you may not need a receipt, but a copy of the decision itself. It is already much more difficult to obtain. If the order issued by the inspector or sent by mail is lost somewhere, then you can get a new one only at the traffic police department. It will not be possible to obtain a resolution through online resources.
To obtain a copy of the lost resolution, you must come to the traffic police department and submit a written request to restore the protocol. Unfortunately, problems often arise with obtaining a copy, since employees redirect the driver to other departments or, under various fictitious pretexts, refuse to issue the document.
Why do you need a receipt for payment of government services?
Many services of a government department or body in our time must be paid for: production of a foreign passport, ordering an extract, etc. At the same time, there was no need to take receipt forms from government agencies and fill them out manually.
A check from State Services has the same legal force as, for example, a bank receipt or payment document issued by any other organization.
The payment document will be stored on the portal and can always be printed after a significant period of time has passed. Having a check significantly speeds up the exchange of information and interaction between government agencies.
The list of the most popular electronic services that can be ordered and paid on the portal includes:
- fines issued for traffic violations;
- registration at place of residence;
- extract from place of residence;
- various requests to the Pension Fund;
- interaction with tax authorities: filing a declaration, obtaining information on debt;
- vehicle registration services.
If you need to confirm payment of a state duty or other payment, then, as a rule, a receipt is not required. Employees of the department to which the documents are submitted are required to check the availability of payment themselves in the state information system - GIS GMP.
But there are situations when information about making a payment must be provided immediately, and payment statements are received by the service within 1-2 days. Then the printed receipt will serve as proof that the service has been paid for. In order to provide data to the department, you need to know how to print a check through State Services.
How to pay a fine on a receipt?
Having received the receipt or all its data, the driver has many options for paying the fine:
- through an ATM, terminal or cash desk at a bank branch;
- using electronic wallets (Yandex.Money, Qiwi, WebMoney and others);
- using Internet banking (Sberbank Online, Alfa-mobile and others).

How to pay
We invite you to familiarize yourself with two methods, depending on how exactly the information about the fine was received by the car owner:
- The receipt was printed from the traffic police website. You can pay for it by contacting the nearest bank branch. To do this, you only need to provide a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation and the receipt itself. The procedure will take one to two minutes, excluding the queue wait. Post office cash desks also accept fines.
- The car owner learned about the violation and the fine issued from his personal account on the State Services portal. In this case, payment can be made directly on the spot using a convenient online service. We accept MIR, Visa, Master Card plastic cards, money in Yandex and WebMoney electronic wallets. After the information on the fine has been studied, click the “Pay” button and enter the details of the payment method convenient for you. The receipt can be viewed in your personal account in the “Payment” section. The fact of payment is confirmed via SMS message with a code.
When paying traffic police fines through the State Services portal, there is a 50% discount if the payment is made no later than 20 days from the date the resolution is issued.
How long should I keep payment receipts?
Sometimes, after paying the fine, the driver continues to be listed as a debtor. The most common reason for such injustice is a technical glitch. To protect yourself from such problems, it is recommended that you keep your fine receipts for as long as possible. The statute of limitations for traffic police fines is 2 years; upon completion of this period, the receipt can be thrown away.
However, from this point of view, it is most convenient to pay the fine via the Internet (electronic wallets or bank applications). In this case, the payment receipt will be issued electronically and stored on the company’s server. You can download and print it at any time.
How to restore a fine payment receipt?
If the driver did not save the receipt and was among those who remained “in debt” even after payment, there is still a chance of avoiding repeated punishment. If the driver manages to remember the account number, place and approximate time of payment, the receipt can be restored. This is not difficult to do, just go to the desired bank branch, taking your passport with you. The main problem is establishing the account number and time of the transaction.
