Step-by-step instructions for paying the state fee for obtaining a license from the traffic police

Penalty for expired licenses

For driving a vehicle with an expired license, de jure without a driver's license, there is an impressive fine: from 5,000 to 15,000 rubles. (Article 12.7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Driving a vehicle by a driver who does not have the right to drive a vehicle”). The innovations came into force in 2014. Previously, the fine was 2,500 rubles.

You can contact the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate through State Services to replace your driver’s license using an electronic record. Here you need to enter information from the medical certificate (form 003-B/U), which was received by the driver after passing a medical examination at a special institution.

In the column you need to indicate from the medical certificate the series, number, date of issue, as well as the name of the medical institution that issued it and the license number (this information is indicated on the seal of the medical institution).

Old driver's license details

In this column you should enter information about the rights that will be replaced, namely, indicate: series, number, date of issue and name of the authority that issued the license.

Selecting a branch and time to replace your driver's license

Here the user must select the traffic police department to replace the driver’s license through State Services, which corresponds to his location. To do this, the branch itself is selected from the list presented on the website, and then the date and time at which it is convenient for the driver to come to the branch.

This is done by pressing the “Select appointment time” button. As soon as the date is entered there, the choice of time for recording will immediately become available.
