Why do you need compulsory civil liability insurance and what is civil liability insurance in compulsory motor liability insurance?

Owners of vehicles, according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, are obliged to provide compensation to an injured third party in the event of harm to life and health, as well as damage to property. In order to ensure the possibility of financial compensation, each driver is required to have a policy OSAGO.

But insurance compensation is not always enough to cover all expenses associated with an accident. DGO will give you confidence when driving on the roads, especially in large cities where traffic consists of many expensive luxury cars.

Advantages and disadvantages

Let's look at how DSAGO stands for and what it gives to the driver.
This insurance program is an expanded version of the standard MTPL, with the difference that it is purchased at the discretion of the car owner. It turns out that DAGO is an additional civil liability. The advantages of DOSAGO include the following features:

  • the ability to use compensation without taking into account wear and tear;
  • owning insurance to cover a large amount of damage at a fairly reasonable cost;
  • DOSAGO will provide great assistance to the car owner when compulsory motor liability insurance is not enough (damage over 400 thousand).

The disadvantages of DAGO include its attachment to compulsory motor liability insurance. Without the OSAGO form, DSAGO simply does not operate.

The cost of DSAGO is not high, but it guarantees coverage of expenses in case of damage to expensive cars due to your fault. Payments under it are made if the volume of compulsory motor liability insurance is insufficient.

The disadvantages of the system include the low probability of traffic accidents causing significant material damage. As a result, the costs incurred are not recouped.

A DoSAGO policy is useful when the maximum payments under MTPL do not compensate for all the damage caused (each victim receives 400 thousand rubles for property, 500 thousand rubles for health and life).

This happens to every fifth victim, and insurance companies tend to underestimate payments under compulsory motor liability insurance by an average of 20–25%, taking into account the wear and tear of the car.

Additional insurance of your liability for damage to property and/or health caused to third parties expands the state-established compulsory motor liability insurance limit to an amount determined by the insured.

This type of insurance has its own characteristics:

  • voluntary type of insurance;
  • is possible only if you have a valid MTPL policy. The validity period of the DSAGO is equal to the validity period of the MTPL;
  • the maximum amount of coverage is chosen by the policyholder (from 300 thousand to 30 million rubles, most often - 1 million rubles);
  • tariffs are set by each insurance company independently, taking into account the age and driving experience of the policyholder, the power of his car, etc.;
  • insurance payment is made after payment under compulsory motor liability insurance, in the amount necessary to fully cover the damage caused, but not exceeding the amount of the insured amount under the contract;
  • If the insured event occurs due to the fault of persons not specified in the contract, then the insurance is not paid. since this is insurance of the risks of liability of a certain person, and not the insured’s car;
  • Usually the contract establishes a deductible (unpaid insurance amount) equal to the limit of payments under compulsory motor liability insurance.

A visual explanation of how DSAGO works is in the video.

Independent experts have come to the conclusion that this type of insurance can be useful and even necessary for some categories of drivers:

  • inexperienced young motorists due to lack of sufficient driving experience;
  • for lovers of aggressive driving and high speed, who often violate traffic rules.

The most interesting thing is the fact that the majority of clients who actively purchase DSAGO policies based on the recommendations of agents are the most ordinary, average drivers with extensive driving experience.

Therefore, insurance companies receive considerable profits and always remain winners, since this is the most break-even insurance option.

If you are an experienced driver and drive confidently, keep your car in good working order, or even drive only a few times a year, then you are unlikely to need DSAGO insurance.

But if your driving experience is limited and confidence in today is important to you, then purchasing an extended compulsory motor liability insurance is simply necessary for you!

After all, by paying a fairly small amount, you can get peace of mind!

Video about voluntary motor liability insurance

In the process of registering DOSAGO, it is important to be careful, because this is a commercial service that does not provide for state control. When concluding a contract, a key role is played by determining the amount of insurance (limit), the amount of which is chosen by the client of the insurance company.

In this case, the insurer does not have the right to indicate to the client which option should be preferred. But there are certain nuances here that are sometimes hidden by the insurance company.

The catch lies in the aggregate type of payments. It is important to read the agreement carefully and pay attention only to the refund options.

What is DGO in OSAGO?

Voluntary motor third party liability insurance (or VLI) is one of the types of car insurance.
Most car owners primarily associate car insurance with “car insurance.” But with compulsory motor liability insurance, the subject of insurance is the driver’s liability. With voluntary insurance, the car is treated as property. OSAGO is the main type of insurance that reimburses the costs of the victim in the event of an accident. Everything that is not included in the auto insurance policy must be insured separately. Insurance companies offer a range of car insurance services:

  • CASCO;
  • voluntary motor third party liability insurance;
  • protection against theft or damage (partial CASCO);
  • accident insurance;
  • insurance of additional equipment;
  • international insurance.

Advantages

DGO insurance is most often used as an addition to the MTPL policy. This type of insurance appeared due to restrictions on payments under the “automobile insurance” policy. In accordance with Art. 7 of the Law on Compulsory Motor Liability Insurance, the maximum amount of compensation for damage is 400 thousand rubles. If the accident is serious and the amount of damage exceeds this amount, then the culprit has to pay compensation to the victims at his own expense. The DGO policy allows the car owner to solve this problem at the expense of the insurance company.

Since insured events under compulsory motor liability insurance and civil liability insurance are the same, civil liability insurance comes into effect when the damage caused in an accident exceeds the maximum amount of compensation under compulsory motor liability insurance. The main difference between these insurances is the insured amount that the victim receives.

Price

The amount of the DSAGO insurance premium depends on the following conditions:

  1. Franchise size. The deductible is that part of the damage that the insurer does not compensate. It is set as a percentage of the sum insured or as a fixed amount. In the case of DPO, a deductible is most often provided in the amount of insured amounts under the MTPL policy.
  2. Driver's age and driving experience. As with compulsory insurance, the cost of the policy increases if the driver’s age is less than 25 years or driving experience is less than two years.
  3. Accident-free driving experience. If the driver often causes accidents, then the policy will cost him more.
  4. Number of persons admitted to management. The larger this number, the higher the insurance price.
  5. The purpose of using the car. If the driver works with his own car in a taxi or is engaged in cargo transportation, the cost of insurance increases.
  6. Engine power and vehicle load capacity.
  7. The territory in which the vehicle is used.
  8. The period of operation is one year. This condition can be significant, for example, for motorcycles that are used only in the summer.

Another essential condition for determining the cost of insurance is the wear and tear of the damaged vehicle. In the standard “automobile insurance”, the amount of compensation is calculated taking into account the wear and tear of the car. When concluding a DPP agreement, compensation may be paid without taking into account wear and tear.

Payments

Damage to victims under a civil liability contract is compensated if it is:

  • expenses for repairing a damaged vehicle;
  • treatment costs if, due to deteriorating health, there is a need for additional help and care;
  • earnings lost due to deteriorating health;
  • losses in the event of the death of the victim.

As additional conditions, the contract may include compensation for legal costs, expenses for identifying the causes and circumstances that caused the insured event, for conducting an independent examination, etc.

Important: insurance compensation can be paid to both the victim of an accident and the policyholder. In this case, he, in agreement with the insurance company, independently compensates for the damage to the injured party.

If the parties have agreed on the amount of damage and the case is insured, then the insurance premium can be paid without trial. Otherwise, compensation is paid based on a court decision.

Extended insurance price

Each insurance company determines the base rate independently. The cost of a DSAGO policy is calculated using the same coefficients as for compulsory motor liability insurance.

The main factor that affects the cost of issuing a policy will be the car: its type, engine power, year of manufacture of the car, as well as the driving experience and age of those who drive and can drive the car. The number of drivers is also taken into account.

There are also companies that raise the price of the policy depending on the gender of the driver - more often it costs more for women to obtain insurance than for men.

Another important factor influencing the cost is the terms of payment for insurance. If compensation occurs without taking into account wear and tear, the cost will be higher.

Most often, the cost of DSAGO will be from 0.2 to 0.3% of the total insured amount.

And, naturally, the higher the liability of the insurance company, the higher the cost of extended MTPL insurance will be.

Remember that installment payments for the DSAGO policy are not possible.

Prices for voluntary insurance are regulated by insurance companies. However, the competition that exists in the insurance market does not allow insurers to inflate prices too much.

For registration of DSAGO you must pay 0.1-0.5% (most often 0.3%) of the maximum payment limit.

For example, for a policy with a limit of up to 1 million rubles, you will have to pay an additional amount of one to five thousand rubles. Some insurance companies independently determine limits for policyholders - 500 thousand, 1, 2 million rubles, etc. But most often they are calculated based on the following parameters:

  • car data: make, model, year of manufacture, engine size;
  • car owner data – driving experience, presence of insurance cases in past periods, gender and age;
  • number of persons included in the insurance;
  • the cost of a mandatory policy;
  • region of registration.

This list can be expanded or narrowed at the discretion of a particular insurance company. You can calculate the cost of DoSAGO in advance using an online calculator on the insurer’s website.

DOSAGO is a voluntary insurance option. In everyday life, such a service has a variety of names - DGO, DAGO, DSAGO and others. However, the essence remains unchanged. It is worth understanding that such insurance is not complete - it is simply an extension of the mandatory policy. The car owner pays an additional amount and at the same time receives the necessary package of services.

One of the most important issues in insurance is the cost of the service, because it is this nuance that most often determines the purchase. The price of compulsory insurance is set personally by the insurance company, because the additional option is purely commercial in nature. Another thing is that it also makes no sense to raise prices too much, because the service should be accessible to every car owner.

The average excess payment is 0.1-0.5% of the selected insurance limit. Sometimes a fixed cost is set for DOSAGO, but in most cases it is calculated on an individual basis. The calculation process takes into account such parameters as engine size, car make, number of registered people, age and gender of the driver, region of registration, price of the basic policy and others.

This list may be narrowed or expanded at your own discretion. The average cost of the extended version of OSAGO in 2021 is 1200-1800 rubles, if the limit is one million rubles. Such expenses do not hit the pocket hard, but open up great opportunities for the user.

In conclusion, we can conclude whether an extended insurance option is necessary for the car owner or whether it is possible to get by with classic MTPL insurance without additional conditions. Based on cost, in the absence of financial difficulties, it is better not to save money and still take out extended insurance.

This service is especially necessary for new drivers, fans of fast driving, traffic violators and residents of large cities.

If your family’s well-being depends on a thousand rubles, and you have enough experience and self-confidence, you can refuse extended insurance and take out the regular version of compulsory motor liability insurance. If you believe the statistics, most accidents involve a low level of damage (up to 40-50 thousand rubles), so basic insurance will be sufficient.

On the other hand, DOSAGO buyers most often become experienced car owners who are aware of the potential risks and try to play it safe.

Extended DAGO

In order to make it more clear what this program is, you need to know the rules of DSAGO:

  • it is optional and carried out solely on a voluntary basis;
  • is possible only if there is a compulsory motor vehicle license, and their validity periods must be equal;
  • the subject of insurance is the insurer's motor third-party liability;
  • the object is the insured vehicle;
  • tariffs for DGS are not controlled at the legislative level and are calculated by each insurance organization individually;
  • DAGO comes into effect only after the vehicle insurance limit has been exhausted (400 thousand rubles), until this moment you will not be able to take advantage of the privileges of voluntary insurance;
  • prices for DAGO depend on many factors relating to the driver, vehicle and the size of the coverage;
  • when calculating the cost, the amount of full insurance coverage is decisive;
  • There is almost always a deductible in the amount of 400 thousand rubles (the amount of payments under compulsory motor insurance);
  • The insurance company is obliged to pay compensation for the DPP no later than 20 days from the date of application;
  • Due to the DOSAGO agreement, compensation is provided for damage caused to life, health and property.

It will be useful to know how voluntary motor insurance can be expanded. This is done using additional services:

  • Involvement of an emergency commissioner. The commissioner comes to the scene of the accident and helps to correctly complete all the documentation.
  • Compensation for damage excluding wear and tear.
  • Tow truck services. After an accident occurs, if your car needs to be towed, you can call a tow truck. As a rule, there are certain conditions: you must call for help only through the insurance company, or the tow truck operates in a certain area (for example, only within city limits).
  • Accident insurance. You will be provided with another form as a bonus, but the amounts specified in the agreement are mostly minimal.
  • Help in a difficult situation. You can count on help if your battery runs out or your tire gets a flat on the road.

Carefully read the terms of the contract; with such extensions, insurance company managers lure the policyholder.

In reality, obtaining additional services is quite problematic, because a number of conditions must be met, and their cost will already be included in DOSAGO.

The limit of insurance payments for voluntary insurance companies set based on the wishes of the policyholder. It is advisable to insure your liability from 400 thousand (the amount of MTPL coverage) and above.

An insurance company can set an upper limit of at least 30 million rubles and at the same time request an appropriate price. But you are unlikely to be able to initiate an insured event with an amount of damage equal to the limit.

According to statistics, most policyholders choose a limit from 400 thousand to 1.5 million rubles.

Is it necessary to have insurance for this type?

In Russia, compulsory motor liability insurance appeared in 2003, it was at this time that Federal Law No. 40 of April 25, 2002 came into force. According to this bill, all persons driving a car are required to have a valid civil liability insurance policy.

If the driver does not have a valid motor vehicle policy, then he is prohibited from driving a car, and he will also not be able to register his car (does the driver need to have the original policy with him or can he drive with a copy of it?). For driving a car without a policy, penalties in the amount of 500-800 rubles are provided. In accordance with Article 12.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation and Art. 12.37

You can read more about what to do if your MTPL policy is lost here.

DGO insurance is not mandatory and it is up to you to decide whether you will purchase this insurance product or not. But this insurance product can only be purchased in conjunction with MTPL insurance.

IMPORTANT! Both of these insurance products do not insure your property, but your civil liability to third parties.

Only victims can receive payments under these insurance contracts, while the culprit will have to pay for the repair of his car from his own wallet. If operating a vehicle is prohibited without a compulsory motor liability insurance policy, then without a road insurance policy, you can move freely in your car.

DGO is only an addition to MTPL and does not replace it in any way.

You can purchase a compulsory motor liability insurance policy without purchasing a civil liability insurance policy, but you can purchase a civil liability insurance policy only by obtaining a motor vehicle license.

What else can you buy with your DSAGO policy?

As a rule, absolutely all insurance organizations that are part of the RSA implement voluntary motor liability insurance programs. You can apply for DSAGO and OSAGO in one insurance company or use the services of competitors. Please note that insurers prefer to issue DAGO simultaneously with motor insurance or CASCO insurance.

Naturally, when purchasing any services, any company offers bonuses. The list is huge, and it all depends on the choice of company.

Among the most common “gifts” offered when purchasing a DSAGO policy from insurance companies:

  1. Accident insurance. This is essentially buying two policies. In addition to improved MTPL, you also receive insurance for passengers and yourself against unforeseen situations in the event of an accident.

    The payout amounts are small, so whether it makes sense to agree to such a bonus is up to you to decide.

  2. Free evacuation. Usually, in order to evacuate in the event of an accident, you need about 3,000 rubles. And some insurance companies compensate for such costs. True, they call a tow truck only through the insurers' control panel.
  3. Emergency commissioner (avkom). When you take out insurance, the commissioner comes free of charge in the event of an accident. Just look carefully, as cases are often written down in fine print in which the emergency response team does not go to the scene of the incident.
  4. Collection of information. The insurance company eliminates the need to stand in line for the necessary certificates.

    However, some cities require personal presence when receiving a particular certificate. Therefore, ask about this nuance in advance.

  5. Payment does not take into account depreciation. Payments under compulsory motor liability insurance always take into account wear and tear. With the purchase of this function, the victim will receive compensation as for a brand new car.
  6. Roadside assistance. If you have a breakdown and it is minor, then Avkom will come to your aid. If the emergency commissioner cannot fix the problem, then free evacuation to the service station is carried out.

How to apply for a policy?

You can enter into an additional insurance agreement with your insurance company when applying for or renewing your car license.

Under the terms of this insurance product, a deductible is established, i.e. the amount within which the insurance company will be exempt from compensation payments under this agreement. In principle, this is understandable, because what is the point of using DPP if compensation payments under compulsory motor liability insurance cover the amount of damage caused to the injured party.

As already mentioned, this agreement between the policyholder and the insurance company is concluded for one year. Insurance companies do not believe that it is advisable to issue such a contract for a shorter period. But there may be exceptions to the rules, for example, if an auto insurance policy and a road insurance policy are purchased in the same insurance company and company employees establish a relationship between the validity period of the compulsory motor liability insurance policy and the period of the road insurance policy.

In order to draw up a DPP agreement, you must provide the following list of documents to the insurer:

  1. Passport or equivalent document.
  2. Vehicle passport or certificate of registration.
  3. Driver's license.

IMPORTANT! If several drivers are allowed to drive a car, then you must provide the same list of documents for them, in addition to this, you must also attach a power of attorney for each of them.

Most often, when concluding such an agreement, a car inspection is not required, but if the amount of coverage is high enough and amounts to more than 2 million rubles, then the insurance company has the right to inspect your car. After all, if a client insures his civil liability for a very large amount, there is always the possibility of planned fraud.

There are cases when, after an accident, the culprit and the victim enter into a conspiracy and the culprit goes to the insurance company and purchases this insurance product. Then the accomplices can falsify the date of the accident so that it is dated after the culprit filed a DPP. It is in order to exclude the fact of fraud and know for sure that everything is in order with the car, the insurance company may require an inspection of the car.

This agreement, as well as the auto insurance agreement, you can extend or terminate early. To do this, you only need to write an application to your insurance company. If the car is sold or given to another person, the contract is terminated, so you must notify your insurance company about this. You must also notify your insurance company if you include new drivers who are allowed to drive your car into your MTPL policy.

We wrote about how to terminate an MTPL agreement early.

If the driver causes an accident, but is not included in the OSAGO policy, then you will no longer be able to use DGO insurance.

It is easy to calculate in what cases you will need this agreement, given the coverage limits for compulsory motor liability insurance, even the most seemingly ridiculous accident with an expensive car can cost you a tidy sum. First of all, inexperienced drivers should think about such insurance, since they have the highest risk of getting into an accident, but for experienced drivers, this insurance will not be superfluous.

DAGO Rules

Payments under the DoSAGO policy begin only after the exhaustion of OSAGO resources, and are paid with and without deduction of limits on OSAGO.

For example, if the policyholder has a road insurance policy with a limit of 1 million rubles in an insured event in which the damage to the victim’s car is assessed

  • 1 million rubles. Under compulsory motor liability insurance, 400 thousand rubles are paid. The amount of insurance compensation under the DoSAGO policy will be 600 thousand rubles;
  • 1.5 million rubles. According to compulsory motor liability insurance – 400 thousand rubles. Compensation under DSAGO will be 1 million rubles. The policyholder must pay the remaining 100 thousand rubles independently.

The conditions for making payments are specified in detail in the contract. It is important to comply with them promptly and accurately.

The insured amount of DPO can vary from 200 thousand to 5 million rubles; there are no restrictions on the amount of these payments in the legislation. The policyholder determines the amount of the amount by agreement with the company representative - the larger the payment amount, the more expensive the DHS policy will be.

This is where the confusion begins. The majority of policyholders who have purchased an extended package of insurance services are confident that in the event of an accident they will be protected both for the amount determined by the compulsory motor liability insurance policy and for the limit under the insurance policy.

Example. The limit on a mandatory policy (if there were no casualties) is 400 thousand rubles. The car owner takes out extended insurance for 800 thousand rubles. And he lives in full confidence that he is insured for 1 million 200 thousand rubles. This approach is logical, but fundamentally wrong.

When applying for an MTPL policy, which can be considered additional, you need to count on its purchase amount from 700 thousand to 2500 million rubles.

Advantages of DGO insurance

Purchasing a compulsory motor liability is only the minimum scope of insurance in case of damage to a third party injured in an accident, which is required by law. To resolve problematic issues when such events occur, the car owner must take care of his own safety and risks. For these purposes, a DGO .

The main positive aspects of voluntary insurance:

  1. Insurance compensation is paid in excess of the amount paid under compulsory motor liability insurance.
  2. The policy provides full compensation without taking into account wear and tear of the vehicle and components.
  3. Insurance includes technical support on the road.
  4. The ability to determine the maximum insurance threshold yourself.
  5. 24/7 support from dispatch and service specialists.

Subtleties of design

The next question concerns the nuances of obtaining extended insurance. The principle here is the same as in the case of the basic service. If the primary insurer provides such an option, the time investment will be minimal. Here again, there is often confusion due to the fact that many people try to sign up for an additional service without receiving the main one. You won't be able to do this separately.

The best option is to immediately sign up for an extended option, which already includes the basic service, from one insurer. An additional option can be connected later, but the basic option must be completed. To avoid discrepancies in dates, it is advisable to take out extended and basic insurance at the same time.

DSAGO excluding wear and tear

When contacting the office of the insurance company, the policyholder has the right to independently decide what type of contract he wants to purchase: with or without wear and tear. Using a contract with calculation coefficients that do not take into account wear and tear in the event of an accident will cost a little more, this is due to an increase in the amount of insurance payments in the event of an accident.

The DGO policy covers the damage to the damaged vehicle completely, excluding wear and tear. The service is designed for the case when a victim sues for insufficient payments under compulsory motor liability insurance, then DAGO covers them in full.

Why do you need DGO?

Taking into account the limits of indemnity for compulsory liability insurance, it is easy to calculate in what cases you will have to find financial resources yourself if the compensation from the insurance company is not enough.

Even the most ridiculous accident with an expensive car can cost a pretty penny. for inexperienced car owners to consider taking out an additional liability insurance policy , since this category of road users has the greatest risk of an accident.

However, even the most experienced driver sometimes cannot cope with driving in bad weather (heavy rain, snowfall), given the quality of the road surface. In unfavorable weather conditions, accidents often occur not with one car, but with several at once.

Appearance of the policy and restrictions

Extended insurance does not imply the use of a standard form with a specific set of boxes. The document can be drawn up in free form, at the discretion of the policyholder. In addition, if the basic and extended services are purchased as one “package,” the insured person receives one document containing a clause indicating the availability of the additional service.

As noted above, DOSAGO has a cap on the upper amount. Each insurance company makes a decision regarding the limit individually, taking into account a number of factors, including the client’s region of residence. In some companies this limit can reach 3-5 million rubles or more.

However, you should not think that extended insurance is available to everyone - there are a certain number of restrictions. Thus, DOSAGO cannot be “knocked out” if there are problems with documents (power of attorney, rights or other papers), registration of a car from the exclusion category (road trains, buses) or in case of active use of the vehicle.

The last option is typical for taxis, courier service vehicles, rented or leasing vehicles. Some insurance companies have an age limit for extended coverage.

Most often it is 21 years for men and 22 for women.

Cost of DGO

Prices for additional insurance are not controlled by the Central Bank, unlike the cost of compulsory motor liability insurance. Insurance organizations set their own rates. Basically, the price is determined based on the maximum amount of damage coverage, and is about 0.3–0.6%.

For example, the amount of insurance coverage is 2 million, then the average cost of insurance will be 6 thousand rubles, and with a maximum limit of 1 million, the price of the policy will be only 3 thousand. The final cost is also affected by accident-free experience, the age of the driver and the number of people registered, region of residence and technical characteristics of the car.

CASCO insurance

Now let's look at CASCO

, as we have already said, this is a voluntary type of insurance. This type of insurance is relevant for vehicles that were produced up to 7 years ago, that is, CASCO insurance is most often issued for new cars.
Unlike tariffs for compulsory motor liability insurance policies, which are established by law, tariffs for CASCO policies are set by the insurance company itself, therefore, depending on the company, the price of the policy will be different. Insurance rules are also determined by the insurance company; these rules will be mandatory for the policy owner. A CASCO policy allows you to insure a car against theft
(this also includes theft of a vehicle; theft and theft differ only in that in the case of theft the attacker takes possession of the vehicle for the purpose of sale, but in the case of theft there is no such purpose), from
theft + any damage
and from
damage
(this type of insurance is suitable for modern cars that are difficult to steal, since they have many different anti-theft systems installed, in this case there is no need to overpay for theft insurance).

Franchise clauses

When taking out extended insurance, there is also such a term as a deductible. And if it cannot be applied in compulsory MTPL, then in the case of MTPL there is such an opportunity. The difficulty is that many car owners know little about the intricacies of the franchise, its types and features. As a result, the car owner signs an agreement on unfavorable terms.

In the insurance industry, a deductible is the amount of losses for which the insurer does not pay. We are talking about minor damage to the car, which the car owner personally takes upon himself. For this, a discount is provided when signing up for a contract.

If you choose wisely to balance the total premium with the potential payout to the injured party, extended deductible insurance may be cheaper. The main thing is to understand the types of services, namely dynamic, percentage, conditional and unconditional franchise.

To understand the essence of the option, it is worth considering a simple example. The most popular is the unconditional deductible, in which the amount of the insurance payment is reduced by the amount of the insurance discount.

For example, a car is insured for a certain amount, and the agreement mentions an amount of 20 thousand rubles. If an insured event occurs with a loss of 17 thousand rubles, the insurer will not pay anything, because the amount of expenses is no more than the agreed amount.

If the loss is 30 thousand rubles, the insurance company will pay the difference, namely 10 thousand rubles. In the case of a conditional franchise, the payment will be full - 30 thousand rubles.

When drawing up an agreement, you should pay attention to the terms of the franchise, so you should not refuse to carefully study it before signing. There is nothing shameful here, because the absence of problems in the future directly depends on this fact.
