There are two types of CASCO franchise:
- unconditional;
- conditional.
An unconditional franchise is a certain amount specified in the insurance contract, within which the insurance company client is independently responsible for any damage to the car. In most cases, insurers are limited to an amount of 15-30 thousand rubles.
If an insured event occurs and the amount of damage exceeds the amount agreed upon in the contract, the company pays compensation.
This franchise will be optimal in the following case:
- if a CASCO policy is purchased by an experienced driver who gets into an accident no more than once a year;
- the car is stored in a paid parking lot;
- the amount of the discount for the franchise is greater than the value of the franchise.
An important condition of an unconditional franchise is that the amount of compensation is paid minus the amount specified in the contract.
A conditional franchise is very similar to an unconditional franchise. The insurance conditions also stipulate a certain amount within which the policyholder independently compensates for his losses.
But if this limit is exceeded, compensation for all damage is paid, without any deductions. An unconditional deductible sometimes allows you to save up to 15% of the cost of a CASCO policy.

Correct registration of an insured event

Under no circumstances should the vehicle be moved. It is also undesirable to touch it after an accident, so as not to accidentally remove characteristic damage. What determines the price of a CASCO policy?
Driver's experience and age . The younger the driver and the shorter his experience, the more expensive the CASCO insurance policy will cost him.
Insurance period . The shorter the validity period of the insurance policy, the more expensive it will be each month if recalculated. Therefore, for many motorists, it is more profitable to take out insurance for a long period of time.

Reasons for refusal to pay under CASCO
Traffic violation . A number of insurance contracts may stipulate that an accident that occurred due to the fault of the insured person is not an insured event.
